Crane Operator

Green Valley Tree, LLC is a busy, family-owned, residential and commercial full tree service. We are seeking an experienced crane operator to join our small but mighty customer-focused team. This position is full-time Monday-Friday. 

Looking for: an energetic individual with strong leadership (or potential) with a minimum of five years of crane experience, tree care industry experience preferred (but not required). Since this job requires employees to interact directly with customers, friendliness and customer service abilities are a must.

Qualifications:

  • NCCCO or state of CT hoisting license required or the ability to pass.
  • Class A or B (minimum) CDL with air brake endorsement and up to date medical card required.
  • Clean motor vehicle record.
  • Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test and background check
  • Ability to effectively communicate with crew, customers and management.
  • Must be able to safely and efficiently remove trees of all sizes, with minimal impact to our client’s properties. 
  • Must be able to work overtime during storm and busy season.
  • First Aid and CPR, OSHA 10 certified preferred
  • EHAP certification preferred

Duties:

  • Safely and productively work with climbers, bucket truck operators.
  • Utilize mechanical felling head.
  • Understand proper crane setup, load charts. 
  • Follow proper safety procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on the truck and boom.
  • Operates as part of the crew by supporting team on the ground.
  • Subcontracting to other companies, both tree and non-tree related hoisting.

Groundman

Green Valley Tree, LLC is a busy, family-owned, residential and commercial full tree service. We are seeking a Groundman to join our small but mighty customer-focused team.

Looking for: an energetic individual that is committed to showing up every day and willing to learn.

Qualifications:

  • Driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record required
  • 1 year tree industry experience preferred
  • Must be able to work overtime during storm and busy season.

Duties:

  • Work with tree crew by dragging brush, cleaning up jobsite (operating leaf blower, rake), hauling debris from jobsite.
  • Assist climber with running ropes and other tasks from the ground.
  • Assist foreman with equipment maintenance, loading trucks with equipment in the morning
  • Provide quality customer service and proper job site clean-up.
  • Follow proper safety procedures when using equipment.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Tree Foreman

Green Valley Tree, LLC is a busy, family-owned, residential and commercial full tree service. We are seeking an experienced foreman and tree service climber to join our small but mighty customer-focused team. This position is full-time Monday-Friday.

Looking for: an energetic individual with a minimum of three years of experience in the tree care industry with strong leadership skills (or potential). Since this job requires employees to interact directly with customers, friendliness and customer service abilities are a must.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum class B CDL, clean motor vehicle record, and up to date medical card required
  • Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test
  • Must own proper climbing gear and pass gear inspection
  • Ability to effectively communicate with crew, customers and management
  • Applicators license preferred
  • Must be able to safely and efficiently remove trees of all sizes, with minimal impact to our client’s properties.
  • Must be able to work overtime during storm and busy season.
  • First Aid and CPR certified preferred
  • EHAP certification preferred

Duties:

  • Safely and productively lead a crew of 2-3 people in providing Arboricultural care for our clients
  • Provide the following services: trimming/pruning trees, full tree removals, hazard tree trimming and removals
  • Provide quality customer service and proper job site clean-up
  • Follow proper safety procedures
  • Direct crew members and equipment, plan and execute assigned work and tasks in a timely manner
  • Supervise and assist with proper maintenance, preparation and operation of all tools and equipment including but not limited to: chain saws, chippers and trucks
  • Operates as part of the crew by supporting Groundmen
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Sales Arborist

Green Valley Tree, LLC is a busy, family-owned, residential and commercial full tree service. We are seeking a sales arborist to join our small but mighty customer-focused team. This position is full-time.

Looking for: an energetic individual with a minimum of three years of experience in the tree care industry with a sales background. Since this job requires employees to interact directly with customers, friendliness and customer service abilities are a must.

Qualifications:

  • Valid drivers license and clean motor vehicle record
  • Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test
  • CT or ISA arborist license, or ability to obtain
  • Ability to effectively communicate with crew, customers and management
  • Applicators license preferred
  • Ability to learn to identify trees and shrubs common to the region, diagnose pests and diseases, and recommend corrective action or proactive management plans
  • Must be able to work overtime during storm and busy season
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and computer skills
  • Ability to pass criminal background check

Duties:

  • Play an integral role in developing and maintaining long term client relationships.
  • Visiting client properties, assessing their tree care needs, and providing scientific tree care recommendations.
  • Responsible for all areas of sales within an assigned territory, including selling, customer service, administration, production and training.
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and client relationships within the assigned territory
  • Prepare and provide proposals to clients utilizing sales process tools, software and other technologies
  • Supervise work to be performed, ensuring jobs are completed based on the signed contract and to the client’s satisfaction
  • Set up personal sales expectations with immediate supervisor and prepare to meet sales goals
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Equipment Operator

  • 1-3 years experience
  • Clean driving record

Plant Healthcare Technician

Green Valley Tree, LLC is a busy, family-owned, residential and commercial full tree service. We are seeking a plant healthcare technician to join our small but mighty customer-focused team. This position is seasonal.

Responsible for identifying, treating and preventing problems associated with trees and shrubs. Must be able to follow treatment plans and treatment specifications, and ensure customer satisfaction. CT commercial junior operator certificate or arborist license preferred but willing to train the right candidate. 

Qualifications

  • Tree/Plant identification experience
  • The responsibility and independence to work autonomously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to complete required trainings to obtain needed licensing
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to frequently lift 50 lbs.
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check

Responsibilities 

  • Perform tree and shrub treatments using sprays, tree and soil injections as prescribed by the arborist
  • Communicate with clients regarding work performed during site visits
